I can't find the link for a new post either. There is a post for the discussion 1 assignment we are supposed to share here but not one for the Intro to critical reading?

I can not seem to find the syllabus for this class. I seem to be as confused as everyone else. I emailed the instructor twice yesterday but I have not received a response back yet. Has anyone seen the syllabus?

Alot of the stuff on her site is hidden under links. On the assignments page where it tells you to read the syllabus... click the word syllabus and it should pop up

Ok glad i'm not the only one feeling confused with this class. I do have a question just so I'm on the same page as everyone else. Introduction to critical reading were going to answer the questions and then add more to our answer and post it in the discussion prompt 1 right? Just want to be clear here

Tiffany: Under the process tab under Fall 2011 MCC, there is a list of assignments for week 1. Scroll down to week two and it will say Powerpoint for ch.1! actually click on the "CH 1" and it will download a ppt slideshow. wont open right away, so go to your downloads file and open it from there. Hope this helps not just you but all!

Hi Renee and Abel I don’t really have an answer to your question but I can tell you what I did. On my website I made a notes page and then under that I put "Week 1" or "Assignment 1", can’t remember which, and then I put the ones I got wrong and put the correct answer. I don’t know if that help but I would think you would want to put any notes that you think will be helpful to down the road in this class you on your website.

Hi Kimmy all you are suppose to submit for the context clue 1-4 is the result, so what I did is copy and paste once you get 100 on all the assignments. I believe at the bottom, once you complete the question for the context clue; it asks if you want to email the result. Just skip that part and copy and paste the result at the top of the page to a blank page in "Word" and then submit the "Word" doc under to process page. I hope that helps.

Hey every one, with reflection #1 , do we write about the chapter and then include what we ended up doing during the first week. and does that mean what service work we chose and how our communication with them went??

Thank you Parsa. For the first time in my schooling I truly felt like banging my head on the wall from lack of understanding. I did do that and after talking to the teacher about 6xs and reading the reflection #2, I see that maybe I still am doing something wrong. I’m fighting to keep my G.P.A and I am now sadly convinced this is going to be the class to break it. What is being asked is not hard; it just understands what is being asked. Anyways, thank you for your help.

Mike, I would just keep trying. It took me 3 times to get a 100% on one of the exercises. Take a break and go back to the one you are struggling with. I do that if something is frustrating me.

The chapter 3 portion on the publisher website doesn't have Review MC Exercise, Essay Ex. #1, and Exercises #1-4. So are supposed we are to do the ones that are underneath the chapter 3 tab? The multiple choice 1-4 and exercises 1-4?

If anyone is trying to figure out where the passage is for the publisher's exercise 2 for Chapter 3, it is in Chapter 3 on page 92, not in Chapter 2 as the publisher's web site claims.

Has anyone received any correspondence from the instructor lately? The last e-mail I received was to the whole class on September 15th, about last assignments. I am turning in my assignments and took the test but haven’t received any sort of acknowledgment or grade for any of them, except for at the very beginning of class. I just wanted to know if this happening with everyone or if it’s just me and I should be worried about my status in the class.

I am very frustrated, too. I have not received any emails of "confirmation" that assignments are received. Also, I am working on this week's assignments and Ch. 4 on the publisher's website. When I submit my answers, I get the "ungraded" feedback, but no other feedback whatsoever! Yet, for the assignment, we are to compare our answers to the feedback. Anyone else having the same problems? And, with regard to the poll we are to create, I have not a clue since it was suggested I make my husband (who is blind) my "organization". How would I create a poll to get "data" with only one person involved!?! Unfortunately, the more I go through this class, the more frustrated I am getting and the more I am disliking this class. I am very concerned about my status in this class and the content of this class in a whole.

I am all but making sure here, but on the publisher's website, are we to do all the Short Answer Exercises 1-7? Given that there are maybe 6-10 questions per exercise. That makes it over 50 questions alone just for the publisher's website.

I tried to google it but I could not find one that matched the picture. I looked through the book and I could not find a similie funnel picture. I am going to e-mail the teacher and see if she can help.. I will post the response that I get.
