I am enjoying this class but the communication. I don't expect online learning to be the equivalent of in classroom learning, but I would like to see more interaction between the instructor and the students. Possibly some more comments on our posts in the Reading Café and other assignments.

Clicking on my name should bring you to my web page concerning my issue. I have done a lot as far as volunteering to help find a positive result in my issue, but not much updating to my web page. I should have more things such as assignments up later on.

Here's my short story for Project HOPE:

Project Hope has a very personal meaning for me. I am single mother, didn't start out going to school that way but have become due to domestic violence which is my personal project. I have a good support with my family but even still it is difficult to continue my education. I have to juggle raising two children, working full time, maintaining a house and all that comes with it. My son started school this year and his homework is priority over mine. It's a difficult thing to be a single mother, and a single mother in school is even harder. Many women do not have the support they need to continue their education.

URL is linked to my name. I have had minor difficulties in keeping in touch with my initial supervisor at the beginning of the semester so I had to find a new organization. Following this, I will probably have to move to a new one; hopefully I can stay committed to this one until the semester is over.

When the reader is analyzing a certain add, first the ad has to be identified on what type of appeal the author is trying to portray. Try to gain a feel of what the author is trying to say and who the ad is directed to. When I was a analyzing the ad that was posted in the parents magazine about the tracking device called Angel Alert, I quickly seen that the authors approach was appeal to fear. According to Spears, “the top of the ad and the shadowy figures of adults targeting or surrounding the little girl in the accompanying photograph appeal to fear.” When I seen the ad, I came to that exact conclusion. The author starts stating at the top of the add,” more that 2,000 children are reported missing in the U.S every day. This statement gives us the facts and keeps us reading more on the scary subject. Then the author gives a photo of a little girl, this little girl is faceless due to the photo is only a shadows. I love this approach to the viewers because it leaves the identity opened so naturally a person will image there little girl in the ad. So now that the author has our complete attention thinking that this add has a personal touch and it could be our child there alone in a crowd with millions of strangers lost, they hit us with the selling point at the bottom of the ad. To prevent this from happening to your child you need to have, Angel Alert.

I think is looking at Obama’s speech even more I can see that there are many other problems on his plate and this is one that he is passionate about in fixing, but like I said earlier he can only do so much without the support of others.
