Vocabulary

Developing a good vocabulary creates a good reader.  Besides knowing the definition of a word or how to find the definition, can you use the word in proper context so when you read, you read with comprehension.

What???  Understanding every word you read helps a lot--but don't look up every word in a dictionary.  Read the passage--even words you don't know and see if you can make some sense out of what you read.  Then, reread and highlight those words you didn't understand and still confuse you.  What is the confusing word for this picture?  Or, is it confusing???  Download the news and find the unfamiliar word.
